Animal Hut

Eid-ul-Azha is one of the biggest Muslim religious festivals in Bangladesh.

Keeping in view the Eid-ul-Azha, the farmers prepare to raise cows, buffaloes, sheep and goats. Animals are reared in different districts of Bangladesh. Some farmers take money from moneylenders for animal husbandry.

With this money they raise animals. The farmers receive one year’s preparation. For this, they have to work tirelessly. With the burden of huge debt on their shoulders, sometimes they have to deal with various natural calamities like floods and droughts.

One week before Eid-ul-Azha, the animals are brought from the village to various cattle markets in the city for sale. It’s one of the cruise trip. Travel. By road, by the river, farmers bring animals to the cattle market. At this time the farmers are suffering from various sufferings. Money has to be paid at different places on the road. To bring the animals from the village to the city, one has to cross the river for 24 hours. On the way to the river, robbers sometimes attack. Thus, keeping in mind the various adversities, they left for the city with 7 days of dry food. At this time, many farmers brought their small children with them.

They sleep with the animals in the ground at the animal market, where they cook and sell the animals. Sometimes a group of thieves stole money from the farmers in the market and the animal fell ill and died. It has also been observed that a farmer dies of a heart attack after seeing the death of an animal.

Sometimes it rains in the cattle market. In this rain, the shepherds get wet and stand in the market with the cows. Sometimes the temperature rises.

Every morning the farmers bathe their cows. For this, they have to run to the nearby canal or river. They suffer from the water crisis in the city market. In the market, they cook in turns and some of them rely on dry food. At night, they take turns guarding the cows. Some miscreants mix anaesthetic in the food of the farmer and the farmers become unconscious after eating this food, then the miscreants run away with their money, cows, many times it is seen that the farmer does not regain consciousness and dies.

Again some people could not sell the animal and went back home. In this way, the farmers sell their animals for 7 days and when they return home, they bring happiness to their families. Again, darkness descends in the life of some farmers also.
